Stranded

In the year 2000 (IN THE YEAR 2000!), Red Planet and Mission to Mars went toe to toe trying to win over a populace that was just itching for more Mars, something no one had even thought about for ten years since Total Recall. They both failed to grab the public's imagination and they both failed to be above average movies. A year later Stranded went toe to toe with John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars. Somehow these were both a step down. Someone was in a Mars crater trying to dig their way up.

Good classic SF story, well filmed but with a fair amount of poor acting and voice acting (English dub?) which makes it painful at moments.

umm i was really high and distracted by the dubbing and my munchies so i couldn't tell you exactly how bad it was. gallo has the biggest mindfuck of a filmography ever.

Boring, bad acting/dubbing, bad script, ruined by obvious low budget. I turned it off before the end because of how bored I was. Looking at Elahn's review I'm glad I didn't finish it because DAMN.

Frustrating sci-fi that could have been so much better. The whole look and filming is fine for the rather limited budget. The weakness is rather poor script and dialogue, and rather wooden acting. The worst for me is the documentary feel with the boring voice-over.

I watched this years ago with a group of friends and after it finished, we turned to each other and said: I can't believe we sat through that! We kept thinking it'd get better, that *something* was going to happen, but it didn't.

Totally ruined by bad writing and bad acting.
