First, let me say this: f*** your slut-shaming! Other than that; slow-burning but still kinda gets you in the feels. I should definitely watch more aussie movies too.

SPOILER ALERT: The only reason why I watched to the end was to find out what had happened to the girl. When I then found out that we didn't get to know that at all I was mad that ive spent 90 minutes on absolutely nothing. The story is about one slut and a daughter who also is a slut and then dissapears and we don't get to find out how or why. Kidman plays good but that don't count for shit. waste of time!

The acting is good. Can't really take away anything from Nicole Kidman's efforts. The story also has it's interesting aspects with the sexual undertones and insanity creeping in. Unfortunately Strangerland (2015) suffers a lot from 'too little, too late'. You sit through most of it yawning and then there isn't really a tantalizing end. Just a bleak, and just as yawning completion.

Competently done at first, with the "kids going missing in the bush/desert" an Aussie film staple, this story soon turn grimly dark due to the revelations of one of the kid's sexual promiscuities, all of which causes some distress in Kidman's character, brilliantly performed by her as she becomes more and more disturbed.
