Strawberry Mansion

Very imaginative, a fun watch. Nobody's seen this so any joke attempt seems futile, but screw it. If you do watch this know that it wasn't the only movie I watched that day where someone inserted their hand into a large animal because my life is awesome.

This is the answer to the question what if Jim Hosking directed Science of Sleep? Yes it ends up being mostly style over substance, except in this instance the style is the substance. Visually its magnificent, with outstanding cinematography, and top notch production design. Dan Deacon's score fits each scene perfectly. For a completely unknown cast they were absolutely terrific. Everyone take note. This is how you make a film feel expansive on an indie budget.

A low-budget hipster-fied fascimile of better films rehashing the whimsy-core of decades past. Yeah, we get it you watched Amelie and Brazil and think the Victorian era had the height of male fashion, but that doesn't mean you should be trying to bring back those forgetable, overly-sentimental indie-folk-infused meaningless yarns of the mid-2000s.
