Goopy, grimey, 80's exploitation garbage fun. Loosely following the ridiculous exploits of a motley group of bums living in some strange 'Tromaville' adjacent junkyard, "Street Trash"(1987), probably best remembered for its over-the-top florescent meltings, or for the infamous game of 'keep-away' played with a hobo's severed penis, all together makes for some half-decent trashy B-movie nonsense.

Pretty much all I remembered from seeing this twenty-odd years ago was the dick-tossing scene, & fucking Amazon video put up the rated cut. I was waiting & waiting, then it ended & I was like NO DICK TOSS?! So I went & found it on YouTube. Great movie anyhow.

If you want a rude, crude, tasteless movie about rude, crude, tasteless people -- this one's for you. As black a black comedy as you're ever gonna find, this is filled with virtuoso camerawork, good characters, hilarious dialogue, and lots of ultra gore. Ever see a bunch of guys play "keep away" with a severed penis? You'll see all that and more. And be sure to hang around for the riotous end credits theme.

Novelty gore and super sleazy characters. Brainless, but fun.

Like a derelict wandering the street with no purpose in life or ambition to have one. Scenes and characters step in and out of frame without sense or impact. The putrefied 'Viper,' however, lives up to its poster art and is spread out enough across the whole film to just barely keep you attentive. James Lorinz gives the stand out performance with excellent improv but is in too few scenes. Moral of the story, if you take a chance and only spend a buck, you may still pay more for it in the end.

This was incredible. Some compare it to Troma movies, but I think the production here was notably better and felt different. The most similar movie I can think of is Ebola Syndrome. Many good quotes here - 'You know, you're the type of cop that would use a traffic violation as a ruse to pull me over and rape me!'

Like most overhyped exploitation films of the 70's and 80's, Street Trash is a great concept in search of a film. What could have been a sly and subversive horror comedy about the failure of Reaganomics becomes a sub-Tromaesque gorefest only without the social commentary. Aside from some nifty camerawork, it is pretty flat across the board

oh ya this was comedy, if you have a sick mind that is. The people melting was awesome, heads being blown off and tons of other gore make it extremly watachable and entertaining. A few boobs much like you'd expect from such a trashy movie, and they dont get much trashier than this. I had to watch it because it is said to have inspired hobo with a shotgun which was also amazing and i regret putting it off for so long because it is truly a hidden gem for lovers of 80s gore movies!

A great example of how low-budget exploitation films can do interesting things you've never seen before. I really enjoyed some of the characters in this, and the humor was a lot funnier than I expected it to be. Yes, some of it falls flat. Overall this was very original and surprisingly well-made, special effects aside.

Top badass moment? Has to be the doorman in the last scene. Having a serious amount of attitude when you're tied up and facing the local Godfather takes some guts. An all around cool dude. 1 cat and 1 decapitation. The cat has a scene-dominating role and a brief speaking part too. The look of total disinterest displayed in regards to what's going on is cat-acting at its best! The decapitation is also a top quality effort, one of the best I've ever seen. The film's worth watching for this alone.

Loved the melting people, hated almost everything else. Unfocused, unfunny, poorly acted, and mostly boring. There were a few decent characters, but most of the time they're running around doing random, seemingly pointless things. Why couldn't this have focused more on the poison booze and its effects? 'Cause that stuff was pretty creative and interesting.

There's a fine line between depravity and unpleasantness, and although a few scenes tip toward the latter (the rape scene, yikes), the gore is so infectious I don't really care at all. Such a great rhythm to leap from idea to idea, leaving only blood and guts in its wake. Every caricature is so loud it dominates the entire screen. The doorman vs the mafia don had me dying the entire time

it's unfortunate that this film has a nifty concept about a poisonous booze corrupting the destitutes of Brooklyn, but this film itself is drunk and keeps going off track. A bit of fast-forwarding here and there gets to some excellent body horror moments that are as gory (and more colourful) than any of its contemporaries.

Dear God this is one of the lamest things I've endured in a long time. Shitty acting, zero plot, pure putrid bullshit. Not even the said special effects are worth a damn, closer to the bullshit that Troma is famous for.

A gorehound's delight. Not much to speak of in the way of a plot, but it's a fun movie that doesn't take itself seriously (how could it?). Keep away from the Tenafly Viper!

Only the classiest of films here. It's so completely unfocused and bizzare that I'm not entirely convinced there was a script written in advance. I think they just paid some homeless guys to hurl insults at each other and stitched it all together in post. Probably makes a good double feature with Repo Man.

Great gore and surprisingly bold and adept camerawork aren't enough to justify this film - it's incredibly unfocused, at no point dedicating itself to a specific plotline. I only figured out the central conflict of the film because the credits began right after it was resolved. Despite all its creativity, I can't in good conscience give this mess of a film a higher rating because of the sheer repulsive morality at work (not to mention a seeming disdain for the underclass)

Given that this is so frequently hailed as a top-tier cult classic within the horror community, I was expecting to enjoy it a lot more. I was honestly excited to watch it finally. But then there was no protagonist or plot and none of the characters were likeable except that one gas mask guy. The body horror bits are fun, but they're too few & far between. Everything else, at least for me, was pretty boring. Also the dude who raped a woman while she was blackout drunk didn't die. Fuck that.
