Stuart's mother is being over-protective of him, especially when he narrowly escapes injury in a soccer game. His big brother George has also made a new friend, Will, so Stuart is feeing lonely. Stuart rescues a canary, Margalo, from a falcon; she moves in with the Littles. One day, Margalo is nowhere to be found, so Stuart and Snowbell set out across the city to find her while George covers for Stuart (the first time he's had to lie). (imdb)

How can it be that hard to kill one tiny mouse? That hawk is a disgrace to his ancestors.

This is one of a very few sequels taht surpasses its predecessor. If you liked the first one at all, you should check out the second one. What's more, it, unlike many other sequels to books based off of movies, isn't really straying away from the book. It's kind of following a dropped subplot from the book that wasn't covered in the first movie.

Tepid sequel is same song, second verse more or less; pitched at younger children (what better way to introduce them to VERTIGO?) and grading on the curve, not so terrible, with most of the performers resisting the urge to go full pantomime (though Davis and Laurie are a bit of a worry at times!) Kept bubbling along by Fox’s likable Little, and Woods who resists the urge to take his villainous falcon into R-rated places with every fiber of his being.

A very sappy, poorly acted reimagining of Oliver Twist.

Too much of a kids movie, but it did have some good actors in it, they just didn't do their best.

Unlike the original, this wisely does not overstay its welcome. Quick, painless, and undemanding, the film complaisantly whisks right by and is over before you have had time to pick out its varying missteps. Like a child's storybook, the Little's exists in a world of wide-eyed optimism and "happily ever after" endings. There is a refreshing absence of cynicism in this movie -- quite a rarity, even in the family film market. Eventually, it wins you over.

Continuation less exciting, with a script very slushy, able only please the children.
