Subspecies

A film whose titular creatures are present as much as the pie from American Pie. A vampire film that takes its cues from Dark Shadows much more than, well, any other vampire film I can think of. If Lucio Fulci had directed an episode of the aforementioned serial and had to work around censors I think we'd pretty much be talking about the same product. I always wonder how cheap productions get a hold of real castles?

Not even Laura Mae Tate's beauty can save this one.

There's one, and only one, good idea here: making a shotgun a viable weapon to use against vampires by loading the shells with rosary beads. Still just a cheap and boring horror film that can be skipped without another thought

Good, as far as Full Moon pics go. Radu's a fun character and some of the sets are decent and that's enough to give it a passing grade.

Like a poor episode of Buffy, but without Buffy.

How in the world did they make 5 of these ... I just saw who produced it. There really is nothing more disappointing in spooky movie watching than seeing Charles Band name in the credits.

Goofy fun with some good vampire moments and a likable cast.

If you're a die hard member of the Full Moon fan club you might consider this one of their better outings, but I'm not really in that camp. The cast is alright & the basic premise isn't bad, but the positives end there. The script isn't good, the story isn't explained well, the editing is atrocious, almost nothing makes any sense, & the characters have less depth than a teaspoon. It's so annoyingly amateur that I couldn't have any fun with it, & then the lame ending was the shit cherry on top.
