It's a dull movie filled with poor performances, awful dialogue, a melodramatic tone that doesn't fit with the rest of the movie, situations that seem to resolve themselves, and characters that have no business being in movies, for they're so lacking in personality and depth that they'd work better as a bookmark. The only joy one can get out of this movie is if they decide to gather some friends and watch it for a laugh.

Elicits images of fish in a barrel trying to dissect this – if I’d been in a different mood I might have reacted more favourably, but it's just such a maddeningly flat, dull recitation of silly romance tropes lacking any sort of conviction; not helped by the oddly negative chemistry between Prinze and Biel, and disheartening to see Davison repeat his disapproving father routine from the same year’s CRAZY/BEAUTIFUL, but this time in a more maniacal, ridiculous key. What's the deal with D'Angelo?

Kind of fun. Jessica Biel is enough to watch it and basically scores 50 of these points.

Cliched and boring.

it was all right when I saw it at age 13, and in the target demographic for it. Watching it again? it's just plain bad.

The ending was 75,000 sorts of awful, it ruined the movie.

I watched this whilst suffering food poisoning so may not have been my most objective. Coincidentally, the film has much the same result as cryptosporidium but acts more quickly.

It would be best to avoid this movie if you can. It has no redeeming qualities.

Generic romantic film. If you think that Matthew Lillard might be able to make this movie entertaining then you made the same mistake as I. He does deliver a laugh or two but it doesn't make up for the rest of this terrible film.

Your typical romantic comedy, but for some reason I love this movie.

Please stop putting Freddy Prinze Jr. into movies! The only good thing about this movie is all the other cool actors in it whos names aren't Freddy.

Biel alone gets this one a few points.

Do not believe NOLAN69420, he faked his rating, he only watched the last 30 mins with me (most of it on his laptop watching reddit), he is my bro IRL, calls himself a connoisseur because he watches kirosawa yet he won’t watch most films good or bad. The film does have cliches but its very entertaining. Just wish it was longer so it could have more impact.

Jessica Biel before she became super hot and Freddie Prinze Jr. Acting from both was mostly uninspired. There were a few good gags. Brittany Murphy was awesome as the loose party girl and was also instantly recognized by her cute laugh. Baseball fans might like it for some of the baseball scenes. It fell a bit flat but was OK to watch anyway.

In all honesty, I must have blocked out being forced to watch this horrid teen-comedy a few years back. But surfing through the channels tonight, I came past it and immediately the PTSD kicked in...

A genuinely terrible movie. Hits every sports movie cliche. Writing is trash, directing is trash, acting is trash. Filled with cringe, half of it trashy bad taste cringe. Ends with an I love you scene in an airport. Cringe. Clichè cringe.
