Summer Lovers

Terrible. Godawful. I despise this movie. I'm not the type of movie watcher to judge a movie strictly on narrative, but it bears mentioning that NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENS in this movie. It's three vapid, empty, meaningless characters cavorting on an island in a contrived threesome scenario. That's it. Fuck this movie.

I am quite surprised at the hate for this flick here, it's an honest no harm type of light fluff flick, and there are far worse out there. The scenery is very lovely with the beautiful Greek isles. Hannah is simply radiant here and is so comfortable with her body. There is something to be said for a movie you watched at least 25 years ago and still remember.

Vapid and totally hare-brained. But damn, is there some pretty scenery--especially Peter Gallagher! Oh, yeah... and a nice Greek island.

A love letter to Greece and to friendship.

Kind of a sweet film in ways, but it's slow and nothing really happens, except a little nudity.

Sun, sea, sex and... er... synths (the cheesiness of the soundtrack is quite something to behold). Look, this movie really sucks, there's no doubt about it, but before you decide to skip it, consider one thing; Darryl Hannah and Valérie Quennessen are both gorgeous and spend the entire film either naked or nearly-naked. That's all you need to know.

Much better than I expected. It felt like a French film with its liberal views and amount of nudity. I'm not sure how accurate portayal of 80's Greek Islands it is, but it worked as great escapism after the covid era. It's also a prime example s of utilizing its locations, and must have done wonders to Greek tourism. The main trio works well together and there's a nice 80's score to support the scenery. It might not be high art, but it's a pity that films like this are no longer made.
