Suntan

Impressive portrayal of the thin line between friendship and obsession that can be crossed when an outsider enters a very different social group. Makis Papadimitriou is excellent as the marginalised middle-aged bachelor who inevitably falls for the bronzed young goddess in a usually sleepy resort town. The setting is depicted in satisfying detail, and the character development is paced very well up to and (sort of) including the surprise finale. The weakest part is the youths. Refreshing.
