Determined to find out the true effects of marijuana on the human body, stand-up comedian and former Stoner of the Year Doug Benson documents his experience avoiding pot for 30 days and then consuming massive amounts of the drug for 30 days. More than just an amusing story of one man's quest to get superhigh, this documentary also examines the hotly contested debate over medical marijuana use. (imdb)

"How much of a loser do you have to be to be person that's more boring than the stoner? And has nothing better to do than sit and watch the stoner melt. And not even fucking call 911."

Yeah right, what an experiment. Doug benson did certainly not do this just to get sponsorship for his weed habit for a month. This is about as scientific as playing around with your wiener, which brings me to the next logical step: "super fap me".

This movie touches on the legality of medical marijuana use, but ultimately does little other than briefly showing federal drug enforcement agencies raiding California state-sanctioned marijuana dispensaries. Aside from the sparse social commentary, this movie is definitely worth a laugh, with cameos from all sorts of comics you'll recognize.

This is literally about a guy who does not get high for 30 days and then does get high for 30 days. There's barely any content in there worth watching. The movie does not entertain and it does not teach.

Being a bit more scientific with the science part would've been nice.

This was the worst thing I've ever seen. This guy's idea wasn't as bad as this movie though so I'll give him that.

Benson really isn't smart, not funny, and actually quite boring. Like most potheads. And like this movie.

In the interest of full disclosure I suppose it should be noted that I smoke pot. My feelings on this movie were pretty mixed. It's a more interesting discussion and not as pointless as Super Size Me. There are some interesting experiments on the physical and mental effects of marijuana, but nothing is concrete. Benson is only mildly amusing, and there were just a few gutbusting moments. An interesting idea that is unfortunately marred by its embrace of some stereotypical stigmas.

I don't get you, world. To me, Super High Me was mostly uncomfortable; almost depressing. Hard to deny that it is pretty entertaining, though.

Poor documentary made watchable by Benson's humor.

Benson's act is as if we have stumbled into a N.A. meeting and been told it's ok to laugh. There is a camera there as well, the man operating it knows only a small amount about exposure. There's also an awkward attempt at character background, when wedged between all the the weed and comedian cameo's Benson admits to paying for all his mothers bills etc.

Dreadfully boring, poorly shot, and not at all scientifically sound. Aside: Marijuana will be legalized two days after potheads like Benson go away and the people supporting NORML start wearing ties instead of tie-dye.

Though I already knew weed wasn't bad for you, it was interesting to see what was going on in California regarding marijuana laws.

Not particularly informative but pretty enjoyable to watch. At the end it was almost like they ran out of material so they just showed dispensaries getting raided.

From this film I learned that smoking cannabis raises your sperm count. Watch it if you like stand-up comedy or you're a stoner, but if you are searching for information look somewhere else.

The plot in this is nonsense, he is a dopehead, there is nothing interesting and you won't watch a change going 30 days smoking no stop, because, you know, he was already smoking no stop! The most interesting part was when he had to stop smoking to start the "experiment" and he can't do his stand up comedy show.

Doug Benson is an okay comedian. It's an okay documentary. I didn't really learn anything by watching it. It's not terrible, but I can't really recommend it to anyone.

Based on what I've seen him in previously, I like Doug Benson. I think he's funny. That doesn't stop this movie from being an insanely boring, uninformative pile of shit. Hearing people's arguments for or against marijuana would be more entertaining than watching this film. Benson himself is a boring person, and if I wanted to watch someone just sit around and smoke pot all day spewing nonsensical bullshit, I could just hang out with some of my friends for a few hours. Not worth your time.

Fairly funny pot-flavored spinoff of Supersize Me, where comedian Doug Benson smokes pot for 30 days in order to something something. Some laughs are had, and much pot is smoked. Entertaing inf you like Doug Benson and the idea of pot.

I like Doug Benson. That's enough reason to watch the movie really: if you like his sense of humour then this will entertain you, and there is some interesting stuff about medical marijuana which I wasn't really aware of, not being from the US. But it isn't really a groundbreaking documentary about the devil weed, it's just Doug Benson being quite bored for 30 days then being out of his tits for 30. And he's funny. That's really it. Your mileage may vary.

I don't understand why the comedy community lets Doug Benson get away with his embarrassing antics. "I'm really fucking high" isn't a punchline, Doug.

I had no idea this was going to be a lucid, involving account of an experiment and a battle between law enforcement and democracy. Doug Benson's act is hilariously dumb, but this is not just an expansion on a so-so bit of his.

Basically an excuse to showcase Benson's (mediocre) stand-up act, SHM begins interestingly as he starts one month on the wagon, but the second 'high' half loses focus completely, rambling on about everything vaguely connected to weed in California without any clear point being made. As for the 'Super Size Me' pun, that's about as far as it goes: there's some half-arsed medical and psychological tests but nowhere near enough data to draw any conclusions from. A waste of time, even for stoners.
