In the 15 years since Super Size Me, the fast-food industry has undergone a makeover. Today, chain restaurants tout food that’s “healthy,” “organic,” and “natural.” Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock explores this new reality with an approach even more immersive and subversive than that used for his first film: he sets out to open his own chicken franchise.

Spurlock's career trajectory is similar to Moore's: the 'everyman' journalistic style eventually became shtick and lost its central appeal. He is less opportunistic than Moore and more affable, but he has the same tendency to simplify complex ideas and rely on infotainment. Spurlock wisely reduces the scope of his 'investigations' though, and he takes timely aim at the deceptive practices of modern fast food outlets and the bullying tactics of 'big chicken'. Good, but it could have hit harder.

There are some serious issues which are lightly brushed on and not explored in any real depth because Spurlock has a gimmick to sell.

A documentary without a plan or plot, that seems to make the subject up as it goes along.
