Scott Kinney is an American geologist monitoring a local volcano when the Supergator, a prehistoric alligator recreated from fossilized DNA escapes from a secret bio-engineering research center. Kinney joins forces with another scientist and a Texan alligator hunter as they pursue the monster as it heads down river intent on destroying a luxurious resort packed with tourists. (imdb)

Subpar CGI monster movie schlockfest, even by SyFy Channel standards. Although fans of this particular "brand" of low-budget creature-features might find it watchable enough, to me it was just another annoying, half-assed, boring "Jaws"(1976) ripoff, full of low-rent acting, obnoxiously repetitive cheap music, intercut with the terrible looking VFX "Supergator," and lazy attempts at gore and humor. Sadly, this disappointing Roger Corman production is best just avoided all together.

Prehistoric gator with an unquenchable appetite feasts on tourists and volcanologists in Hawaii. Passable movie for SyFy Channel fare, but really only if you have 90 minutes to kill with nothing better to do. Too much promise without delivering on any of it; lots of girls running around in bikinis and not a single top comes off.
