Garner's approach to the comedy here is very fun to watch. It won't have you laughing very hard, but it does manage a lot of chuckles with its play on Western film tropes. Good light entertainment.

good comedy, good cast, and just a touch better than the follow up. this one does have something up it's sleeve that the follow up couldn't compare to, that's bruce dern, love that guy. interestingly enough, it's like a spaghetti western made in america.

Compared to the sequel, this is a more serious/less slapstick comedy. More proof that there's only one James Garner, and Vince Vaughn ain't it.
