Survive the Night

At the very least, this is not an aggressively bad or unpleasant film, but its dull and soporific quality still makes it an agonisingly tedious experience to sit through, and ultimately a dispiriting one as we see that awkward fumbling in a shadowy room now passes for a high octane Bruce Willis action scene. Willis himself not so much phones in his performance as sends it by carrier pigeon, but he arguably gives this brainless and incoherent screenplay about the level of respect it deserves.

Willis doing what Willis does nowadays, which isn't great. Not going to say I despise this movie but it didn't do anything really. Criminals break into doctors house after making stupid life choices and then it's just a basic home invasion movie that doesn't build any real emotional connection between these people, since it just sets up inner family drama and doesn't overly explore it. As eCitizen said, there are bad choices everywhere. You can forgive a few since it's a movie but c'mon.

This movie has a couple of good actors. However, the writing was abysmal and the direction was pathetic making the final product almost entirely rotten. There are stupid plot hole or nonsensical story decisions in just about every 5 minutes of run time. Not a single actor was used well and the overall feeling is that of a shameful waste of time, money and talent. I hope I never see another production cobbled together by this director, writer or these producers. Overall it's a shamefull mess.
