Swan Song

I really enjoyed this film. Its poignant/thoughtful and amusing. It makes you think about aging, how society moves on and such things but it certainly isn't totally negative. It's not not too overly sentimental in a crass way (a little but not so much as to really spoil the film entirely, in my view), infact the main character has a nice amount of sass (I liked him) and you could say it's somewhat uplifting, which is nice. Overall I really enjoyed it, so yes, I'd recommend it.

This was a lot better than expected. The progression from drab nursing home to glamourous funeral was an interesting, colourful, and gentle meander through a small town America that hardly deserved it. Special note for the dreams that flowed so well into reality. And thanks to the stylist and cinematographer who melded costumes and skies so seamlessly. Udo was perfect for the role, colourful but never gaudy.

I was hopeful this movie would be interesting and engaging, but sadly I was bored and quite tired of it by the end. It was nice to see Linda Evans after all these years, but even that was not particularly rewarding.
