Sweet Home

A light, enjoyable haunted house adventure reminiscent of House (the one with Norm from Cheers and Bull from Night Court). Based on an old video game I played for like ten minutes on an emulator.

Bizarre little Japanese horror movie. Falls short of other films of the era, but still a fun watch.

Well done effects and the kills were good but felt slow and the characters were boring. Could definitely use some TLC from Arrow or another genre label.

The music really hurts the first act but improves when it stops aiming for whimsy. The plot kicks into high gear about 40 minutes in, and that's where the movie becomes a lot of fun. It's quite cheesy but has some killer special effects showstopper sequences. This movie was way goopier than I expected, which is always a fun surprise. The whole "alcohol squeezing" scene is one of the weirdest things I've seen in a while.
