Sweethearts

Charming little picture, it is certainly amusing how they make fun of Broadway and Hollywood and the constrains it poses to actors, all that blablablá was fine; my point here is that the summary for this is wrong. It is stated that the main plot is the main couple being manipulated and braking up as a publicity stunt, which yeah, that happens, IN THE LAST 25 MINUTES OF THE FILM. This is 2 hours long, people, and it was never mention beforehand

MGM's first full color film! And it's for their 'Singing Sweethearts' performing the play Sweethearts! Yeah, one of those operatic musicals Jeanette MacDonald & Nelson Eddy always did together. So far early color comedies have failed pretty bad in my eyes, and I wouldn't call this a success either. But it's not bad. The two can sing of course and it's got people like Frank Morgan & Mischa Auer helping make it fun. Ray Bolger is there a short while doing a nice wooden shoes tap dancing number.
