Sweet but forgettable. Kendrick and Merchant are fun to watch, and the rest of the cast have their moments too.

This is probably one of my all-time least-defensible ratings. This is not a good movie. I guess I can't bring myself to hate an Anna Kendrick movie - I can't hate any of the Pitch Perfect's and I can't outright hate this. It isn't all bad, either! The dynamic between Kudrow and Robinson offers some laughter. Kendrick is her usual awesome self. Ultimately, it's a movie of scattered moments resulting in an incomplete whole, but in saying that, there are things here to like. You could do worse.

Spoiler alert: All that "everything works out in the end" stuff felt really out of place and made the movie end on a way cheesier, blander note than it had to. It's such a shame how many indie movies don't dare to be indie movies anymore and instead try to pander to general audiences to be Sundance darlings or whatever. This one had so much potential to stay as close to life as it began and not drift into easy kitsch. Really good performances from everyone, though. And great music. Mostly.

Table 19 wants to eat its wedding cake and have it too. It wants to be a rom-com meets The Breakfast Club, but can't navigate the balance or the honesty. A glib first half takes a tonal 180 into a depressing back half before neatly tying everything up in the ending. It tries wayyyy too hard to find meaning, conjuring up none. If not for the amazing cast, Table 19 would be an utter loss. As it is, it's still a diversionary waste of time, but if you love the cast it's at least worth it for them.

Enjoyable enough comedy with a good cast, but definitely not worth seeking out or remembering.

Weirdly sweet. If you don't like quirky movies, you definitely won't like this. I love quirky movies.

The movie doesn't have the intention of being a cinematic masterpice, the bars go low, and this makes the movie quite enjoyable. Good points: Eloise-Teddy's situation portrays beautifully a recurrent drama for young couples (this is possibly the high point of the story); good acting; the idea of the "table" is quite interesting. Low points: generally poor screenplay; excess of cliches; the secondary characters (from the table) look kinda lost in the story. The happy ending fits it perfectly.

I laughed quite a few times. Once more, Merchant didn't dissappoint with his perfect comedic timing. The entire cast give really good performances (during the more emotional scenes as well as the comedic ones) and really give the movie a lot of warmth. Sure, the screenplay is very basic, the characters don't really seem real, and all events and sentiments are very, very mushy. And you definitely have to overlook all of that to enjoy this. The great acting and the laughs may help with that.

Honestly, much funnier than I anticipated, and also a heartwarming little movie that keeps you entertained.

This is a film with a lot of potential but it just doesn't know how to reach it. The cast is decent and they try their best but the material is just a little messy, to say the least. Which is a little disappointing because the Duplass brothers are usually pretty good. It is saved a little, by the amount of heart it manages to show at the end. It's not enough to make this a film I recommend, but it's something.

Anna Kendric is a lovable lead and definitely becoming one of my favorite actresses. She always brings her A game and adds likability to every charactet she plays. Craig Robinson and Lisa Kudrow were definitely the two with the most depth besides Kendric and the rest complement nicely as a lovable gang of misfits. It ended up being much better than originally thought and that definitely helped the final score of the film.

This was an incompetent mess of a film. The basic concept is fine, but the execution was so off. It was so meandering, with barely any structure. It's a shame, because I think it could've worked. It's got a good cast & I can imagine the sort of movie it could've been if the screenplay & direction weren't so lacking. It wasn't very funny, apart from the natural presence of certain actors. And the acoustic score that pervaded pretty much the entirety of the film was insufferable.

Not sure I would call this "bad," but it's definitely not "good." It falls a little below mediocre.

Low-key, meandering comedy-drama is shapeless as soup, but is still enjoyable thanks to a uniformly terrific cast, whose chemistry gets better and better as the film progresses. Highlighted by Merchant's hilariously awkward digressions, and Squibb's touching meditation on death and ageing. Certainly no world-beater, but consistently fun and entertaining spin on the indie rom-com.

Funny when it tries, but the drama doesn't work and it includes a lot of drama, some of it out of nowhere for shock value.

When actual serious subjects are covered in cute and clichè filled moments by fairly awkward and (sometimes) funny individuals, and executed in a very messy way. *Okay

Good cast that are wasted on this kinda blah movie. How was this made by the same guy who did Review, one of the best TV comedies of the decade? Still, a good movie to watch on a plane with Arabic subtitles and all the swear words dubbed over.

With a star-studded cast and fine performances all around, it's much more of a dramedy than it markets itself as- which doesn't always work. With semi-frequent and often jarring tonal shifts, perhaps a few too many twists, humor that only lands half the time, and a sluggish start, it's largely anchored by the very talented actors involved. Despite its flaws, though, it does manage to have some heart and a few decent laughs. Nothing special, but not awful either.

Commediola romantica mediocre e senza pretese, che si lascia guardare e altrettanto facilmente si lascerà dimenticare.

I was really liking it until the last act. It lays it on way too think but a decently charming cast. Makes me miss the mumblecore era and how different this could’ve been in 2007. Ah well time time Time

How could a movie with that cast and those writers be bad? Halfway, I gave up. And I really don't care how it ended.
