This film settles in where its prequel unabashedly sets out for the weird and different. One sees very little of the stylistic flair of its predecessor, plus it ends on one hell of a deus ex machina anticlimax. It still has the stamp of Sammo Hung's choreography and some decent humor, but even despite their concurrent filming, this film falls far short of the first.

Middle film syndrome: It doesn't really have a beginning, and it doesn't really have an ending either - what is there is very abrupt and a major plot thread dangles deliberately. Really fun and entertaining though, can't wait for the next one.

There is still some good choreography (the final set piece is great) and the visuals hold up, but none of the three or four main story arcs attempted feel significant or particularly interesting, and the engagingly silly style of the first film is diminished here to almost nothing, leaving the film forgettable and bland. A weak effort.

Better than the 1st which took risks but didn't do much with them. This one is more traditional martial arts with much less distracting comic book style. There's nice side stories that build up to a massive confrontation, but then after that we're left with a disjointed arrival at the palace and fighting the prince's master in the kitchen for some reason. Fav scene: valley battle and the the older son redeems himself with the plane.

A lot more drama than the first film. Not as many sexy fight scenes, so not as good.

eng; [tai chi hero]; der verlorene sohn kehrt in das dorf zurück und er beherrscht jetzt tai chi, obwohl er bisher mehr für mechanik interessierte - und das dorf muss sich eines weiteren angriffes erwehren.;

has a couple good fight scenes but not enough, and i liked the humor. seriously damaged by the fact that it seems like no one could think of a good ending but decided to just slap a "happily ever after" on there anyway
