Billy Zane punches through a man's head and then some other stuff happens.

Way better than expected. Vastly superior to Bordello of Blood in large part to the fun gore and a surprisingly charismatic Billy Zane.

Cheesy fun with female nudity and gore...Something that is all too rare in American cineplexes these days.

Silly monster flick with lots of boobs and gore, a fun performance from Billy Zane, and Thomas Hayden Church getting his nipples hooked up to a car battery. Good times.

While not one of the top horror/thriller movies ever made, it was a good first transition for the Tales from The Crypt brand from cable to the big screen. Bill Sadler rocks as usual, with good supporting performances from Billy Zane and a host of others.

Perfect combination of horror and comedy. It knows when to be serious and when to be funny. Also has a surprisingly good storyline. Any horror or Tales from the Crypt fan should check this out.

i would have never thought that a tales from the crypt movie would turn out like this, which is pure awesomeness. the cast is definately good, and it's got a scary story that isn't completely stupid like most hollywood horror movies.

A Tales from the Crypt episode stretched out over 90 minutes, no more, no less. Skillfully but not artistically done.

I liked it alot more when I was 12...(Yes, my parents let me watch this at 12...go cry about it). But, I watched it this morning and it's still in the mildly amusing category.

Locked doors, boarded windows, an eclectic troupe besieged by oncoming Eeevil. When approached with the right spirit, as here, these scenarios have a satisfyingly trashy charm. Sadler's always engaging, Pounder's earnest and Zane forgets that he's supposed to suck. Fun.

Tales of the crypt hits hollywood and what we get is pretty much an hour anda half long episode with a bigger budget and half, semi big actors. The story is cool and played out well. The acting is a bit better than expected, the directing (pacing, timing of lines, editing etc) is slightly better than the usual, and there is enough gore to call it a proper tales of the crypt story. A must watch for horror fans or fans of the series!

A truly entertaining and fun genre flick that features a really good cast, plenty of gore, and lots of excitement. William Sadler was one of the more underrated actors of the 90s, and a sequel is long overdue. I could easily see Jada Pinkett Smith carrying a movie like this, although you have to worry about diminishing returns.

An underrated favorite from my prepubescent years that still holds up today. Takes a little from every type of survival horror film but stays original.

Anyone ever notice that the presence of Megadeth on a film's soundtrack means the movie probably sucks? I mean, think about it: Super Mario Bros., Last Action Hero, Bill and Ted 2... The exceptions are the second Spheeris Decline... doc, and Shocker -- and those movies weren't so hot either. That's not to say Megadeth makes the movies bad, or that the songs suck (although "Diadems", their song in this movie, blows), but they regularly missed the horse and hitched their wagon to the manure heap.

A smarter, more self conscious horror film than it was given credit for in 1995, Demon Knight has aged reasonably well, even if it's now somewhat overrated by contemporary horror fans. Dickerson's direction is energetic and stylish, and the film is an appealingly derivative mash up of NIght Of The Living Dead and Evil Dead, among others, with a few neat tricks up its sleeve and a convincing mythology. The acting is above standard for the genre; Zane is a clear standout as the flamboyant demon.

Billy Zane going as hard as he can for 90 minutes, this movie is fun as hell and doesn't stop for a second once it gets going

Spirited horror film is too derivative of other iconic works, and takes an eternity to get moving, but once it kicks into gear, it's a fun, wild ride, even if some of the wildness feels pinched by its surrender to 90s TV tropes (minus the profanity and awkward tit shots, this could be an extended BUFFY episode). Distinguished by its performers, with Zane the highlight as the ruthless, flamboyant villain; proves the adage that any movie with Dick Miller is better than one without!

for a flick that never saw theatres, damn this was good. Great actors, amazing story and good special effects for the time. my only complaint is that this movie wasnt longer, nor did it spawn any sequels.

Billy Zane is incredibly wow, Jada is badass, and the effects are beyond B, and the mythos should have become a series.

It was certainly a Knight of fun. I've always loved Tales from the Crypt. The Crypt Keeper is hilarious. This movie has a pretty interesting demon related story that also involves some Christian undertones. I thought the production value was really high. The demons were really cool looking. The special effects were really fun. Billy Zane was an awesome bad guy. Some of the deaths were pretty gross, but also amazing. Still, there was something missing from this to make it great...

I have issues with this- several, honestly- but I decided that there's enough good in it to make for a pretty damn fun time. The Cryptkeeper's bits are gold, the performances are terrific (Billy Zane was born for this part, Jesus), & the effects are awesome. Some amazing looking practical monsters. The story isn't the best to be frank, but it's investing enough. All said, a pretty good time that stays true to the campiness of the series in every way.

A horror version of Jesus saving the world (again). As usual, Satan just has to be the sexiest.
