A bit of fun to watch around Halloween if you're in the right mood to embrace it. Some stories work better than others but none are stand out amazing so don't expect too much.

Decent. If I could have picked my five favourite shorts and put them in one film it'd have a higher review. As is bound to happen with ten mini-films, some are better than others. Leave your brain at the door and revel in some of the awesome 80s blood and guts and excellent practical effects. Don't expect to be terrified and don't expect The Babadook but a fun ride while it lasts.

I was expecting something at least entertaining b-movie wise. I was hoping that it would at least be on the level of tales from the crypt if not twilight zone or tales from the darkside. Instead this turned out to be just a piss weak anthology of cornball "horror" tales by what looks like student film hacks. The stories were too tongue in cheek to be scary, full of bad acting, and lame gore scenes. Give this a miss if you liked any of the series I mentioned because this doesn't even come close.

Watched it with a fresh set of eyes (as in not my own) and it delivered enough vicariously to warrant a middling review as you've found yourself tricked into reading now.

Could have been chopped in half and more focused on tying all the stories together. I mean, they did try, in the last tale, but it seemed too little too late.

Anthology films create an opportunity for directors to take risks and be creative. I enjoyed all ten segments at some level, finding them fun and entertaining. Since each narrative is brief, it would be easy to tolerate a few that didn't work. To increase your Tales of Halloween experience be willing to accept some foolish moments like a party bag full of candy acting as an aphrodisiac in the beginning or a genetically-modified pumpkin eating people at the end.

Not really worth your time. A few decent segments (like... 2, maybe 3), but at least half of it is pretty bad. Definitely a great idea to be visited again, but with many fewer directors

The shorts range from great to terrible with most falling in the middle.

Someone else below summed it up pretty well as being too tongue in cheek to be scary. Little bits of amusement to be found.

in this movie they kidnap John Landis's kid and it turns out he's a grotesque filthy goblin who preys upon and consumes people and so they try to give him back and Landis is like no way fuck you I don't want that demonic little bastard.

There's a couple of real gems in here but like any anthology it's hit or miss. Unfortunately, mainly miss.

If not for the blood and guts this would've been a Goosebumps marathon, I'm shocked so many people so up on it

Ten mini-Halloween stories in one! Nothing to take too serious, but easy fun for a Halloween warm-up. My favorite would be the first one. Sweet Tooth, the monster that takes all your candy... even the ones in your belly! With the amount of chocolate I eat, I should be very scared!!!

it really hard for me to peg exactly how I fell about this movie. Like most anthologies the mini-stories are mostly hit or miss. For the most part, this one was pretty fun it has some incredible horror icons tied to it and the shorts with the more well known ones preform very well. On the other hand, the ones that don't fell like they drag on and on and it brings down the enjoyment of the entire movie significantly.

A good mix of short Halloween tales that go from funny to quite shocking. Uneven, as anthologies always go.
