What a great movie! Hard to believe it’s a debut it’s shot so well. It was genuinely frightening at times, with a really intense creep factor that may stick with you for a bit after the credits roll. I thought the concept was very original. Someone(s) ACTUALLY breathed life in to the, let’s face it, overdone possession genre. It’s well acted too, with a surprisingly well rounded protagonist. Quite intense at times, with a mostly unpredictable, shocking finale. Recommended!

I did not expect this to hit as hard as it did since ghost stories (if it is one?) usually don't work for me. It is brutal and upsetting and incredibly well made for a debut film. I'm not sure it has the after impact of say Aster's horror films or psych horror classics but damn if it isn't incredibly effective at instilling a sense of dread and foreboding. Great example of don't judge a book by its cover cause the bro directors are those LOUD 'like and sub' youtuber kinda guys. I let them in.

*mild spoilers* The guy next to me in the theater kept laughing each time they'd show Riley in the hospital, idk what that was about. Anywho, it's so refreshing to finally see some good horror.

It's a really interesting take on spirit possession. Super stressful movie to watch, in a good way. Doesn't rely on jump-scares, it's more of a constant creepy / tension building atmosphere. A really great directorial debut, the way the movie is shot and sound is used is really well done. An easy recommendation for horror fans.

It’s a nasty, gnarly movie that manages to frighten viewers in the moment and stick with them long after the credits roll, making it a must-see for horror fans.

YTS.

I don't really understand the hype. Outside of the ending and maybe a couple of decent scenes, there isn't a lot here that stands out. It's not that visually interesting, the story is fine. The characters, whatever. I thought some of it was silly. I mean sure, grabbing a hand to experience ghosts is different I guess? A little corny. This goes for some of the "horror" too. I liked it but it's overrated.

When YouTubers become filmmakers, it should be a disaster sandwich, but all credit to RackaRacka for crafting a super-credible horror debut that kept interest throughout its brisk runtime. Exploring themes of family and grief, it does have some surprising depth within the genre. I'm certainly not in love with this, as it is somewhat light on the scares and the visual intrigue, but, for where it came from and what it becomes, I'm very fulfilled! Sophie Wilde shines and was a brilliant casting.

It's the type of horror movie where the second act has you rooting for the monsters (the protagonist deserves what's coming to her just that much) and the third act makes you stop caring entirely (the movie simply takes too long to do what it ends up doing anyway).

One of these lavish productions with good acting, photography, sound design and makeup, all completely wasted on a godawful script.

On top of its horror tropes, which worked surprisingly well, the film also aims for something genuine and relatable that gave it that extra memorable dimension. However, it seems to cling on tenaciously to the latter, ending on somewhat of a downer rather than the "you're terminated, fucker" type of climax the film was clearly setting up and I personally would've liked to see. The cast is really good, though.

Mostly hit or miss, with a bunch of uninteresting characters, a couple of cool fucking violent scenes and a dire finale.

Deeply unsettling atmosphere with bone-chattering sound design and thoughtful plot progression will keep this movie on my mind for a while

Good "don't do drugs" horror. Spoiler: If you do drugs doing more drugs isn't getting you out of it. You're welcome dumb youth. Next.

So fluid and lively, by way of excellent directing, acting and editing. It’s not easy to make group interaction credible and organic but they nailed it and same goes for presenting the Hand as an addictive partydrug. Probably the best horror of the year for me, but could have been even better with some higher quality, more original music. The OST and sfx rely on mainstream horror cues diminishing a bit of the terror; i’m quite positive someone like Krlic could have made the experience traumatic
