Two emotional sledgehammers bookend this family drama and make it much more than the slightly too sentimental and predictable middle section might have you expect. The opening quake sequence is bone-chillingly frightening and sad, while the ending will bring out the tears once again. The material is well-handled and well-paced, the acting is good, and the film's look is clean and pleasing. The only trouble I had was in distinguishing certain actresses, but that's probably a Westerner thing.

Also known as "AFTERSHOCK" in America. I think it is on Netflix. One of the more powerful dramas I have ever seen.

Overly emotional and the daughter's adult actor is quite atrocious - not to mention she doesn't fit the profile of her character.

The Canadian husband was a terrible actor, but fortunately he was just a bit part in this fine film.

A very touching film, and a great performance by Fan Xu, the raw emotion she expressed really made you feel her anguish.
