2. A phenomenal piece of soviet-era Bulgarian cinema. The Zeitgeist and essence of the cultural specifics of this bygone era in Bulgaria are captured in a sublime way. The characters are all there and any Bulgarian (or Eastern European) will find them insanely familiar, very much thanks to the actors themselves too. Comedy and the underlying tragedy are interlinked and only a thread from each other. The film, above all else, is very quotable too. Highest recommendation and a great family film.
