All kinds of goofy with Tarzan battling for custody in a court of law when he only knows jungle law. Not a masterpiece, but so good-heartedly cheesy that it's a fun time in the city with our jungle hero.

Tarzan dons one of those ill fitting 40's suits and makes for the big city, getting involved in a child custody battle and climbing a bridge along the way. It's still a Tarzan movie so it's less than impressive, but I give 'em serious points here for doing something different. THANK GOD.

Like all the subsequent Tarzan films, this comes nowhere near the heights of "Tarzan and His Mate", but it has a few things going for it. It has a strong supporting cast including not just Bickford and Wills, but Charles Lane as an attorney. The climax involves Tarzan appearing in court in a suit ... and then him losing his temper and stampeding elephants at Bickford. Weissmuller has been playing the part for a decade by this point and he's starting to look a bit old.

Can't go wrong with any Johnny Weismuller Tarzan movie. In this one, Tarzan, Jane and Cheetah travel to NYC to rescue Boy (who's been kidnapped).

Cheeta is the R2D2, or more accurately, Twiki of the Tarzan movies: kids probably love him, but adults like me hate him & this spends waaaaay too much time on terminally unfunny "comic" relief bits. This is unfortunate because the rest of the film is pretty decent, introducing a group of bad guys, w/ some of them actually being good guys. Unfortunately the film doesn't do enough with its fish-out-of-water concept, but we do finally get to see Tarzan climbing skyscrapers & bridges which is fun
