Tehran Taboo

Animated film has a storyline that would not present as a natural fit for animation, but Soozandeh uses the format wisely to delve into difficult subject matter which would likely be unwatchable if portrayed as live action. Outside of the dazzling animation, the story it tells of criss-crossing lives in Iran is a fascinating one, pointing out the underlying hypocrisy that a restrictive moralistic society fosters (if occasionally lacking subtlety).
