Goofy fun, even though Peggy Neal does nothing but caterwaul throughout most of it. That one guy seemed intent on giving us a permanent Kirk Douglas impression. Then there was the Shades Guy (and his constant smirk).

Often compelling, with a great last act, but the acting and dubbing is really poor.

Not a very good film or a memorable one, but it's worth it as a curiosity for fans of Sonny Chiba. He looks very young in this one and lacks the charisma of his later films. He doesn't really get to showcase his moves either, but does a solid job as the lead. The film itself is standard scifi-/monster fare; comical black lagoon styled fishmen, mad scientists, miniatures and actually quite nice underwater cinematography.
