This movie is so bad, if Edison saw it, he would have promoted it.

While there was a thread of captivating content the thoroughly underwhelming writing and performances left me unsatisfied. They managed to make a fascinating man about as boring as they could. Eve Hewson was a pleasure to watch. Ethan Hawke was hamstrung by the role. It lacks excitement and minimizes the man's brilliance. It is somewhat sad that he overreached and failed in the end. Worth watching but it's just not that good.

Though the movie isn't very cohesive, excellent performance by Ethan Hawke.

Total and utter garbage. Some moron decided to take what could have been an interesting story and turn it into an idiotic art piece that is filled with just terrible direction and production decisions. I didn't even think "The Current War" was all that great, but at least it was watchable. Whoever greenlit this idea is an idiot, and anybody who knew what this would be and didn't immediately quit the project deserves to have their judgement questioned in the future.

All over the place, but so different that I can recommend checking it out. Hawke could've been better.

I cant tell whether Teslas karaoke saved the film or was the final nail in the coffin.

I can't decide if the mixed feelings I have after seeing this film reflect the quality of the film itself, or if they are a testament to the film's success in depicting Nikola Tesla's complex life of a genius recognized as such then discredited and casted out. Worth a watch in any case.

As is typical of Almereyda's work, it takes an interesting and engaging approach to a historical or well-known subject and seeks to connect it to the contemporary life. However, it ends up being something I want to love more than something I actually love. Tesla remains an enigma throughout, making it difficult to make any real emotional investment in the character. Thumbs up to Tears for Fears, though.

I didn't care for the fourth wall breaking, the movie had many lulls, and too much philosophizing. But it was an original take on a biopic, with some neat stylistic flourishes.
