It's one of those films that is not great in particular way or stands out from similar films, but features terrific performances and the use of pure emotion gets to you. I enjoyed it. It does everything well and whilst it's not something I'm likely to watch again, Alicia Vikander - I'm now a massive fan of.

Testament of Youth is another great film about an era not explored enough in film. Vikander turns in such a great performance it's safe to say we can expect a lot more from her in the future.

The agony and emotional suffering of the war creep up on the audience in this film in a way I imagine it was experienced by the people who truly lived through it. Despite its best efforts to end on a positive note, I left the theater completely drained.

Dear o dear I just fell for an old trap. Testament of Youth isn't exceptional, it isn't original, it isn't surprising. But playing on emotion very well I can't help but to rank this film so high. Vikander is absolutely amazing. Just amazing. She makes you feel every emotion there is in this film. And this side (like any other side) of a war should not be forgotten or thought lightly of. I would totally watch this one again. 75/100.
