In the beginning, I was saying: wow, looking good. Little by little I was deep in the boredom. I ended up not watching the whole thing and it takes only 1h15m to end. There is not that amount of Mystery btw.

Thought the beginning was good and looked like it might be going somewhere interesting, but then it didn't, at all, and had CGI creatures worthy of a SyFy movie.

This movie sucks. Don't go calling it good because it's independently made and has a naked woman in it. It's not good. It sucks.

Admirable genre film from Norway which feels a bit like an extended student work. It's not as successful as Troll Hunter but on the other hand it's a lot better than Dead Snow. Thale takes a more serious approach than those earlier Norwegian horror films but the drama doesn't really work as well as it should. The director could also have avoided CGI altogether as those few shots are unnecessary and diminish the end result a bit.

Scandinavian horror has done good things to itself in the last few years (Let The Right One In, Rare Exports, Dead Snow, etc). Made on a shoestring budget, but the director avoids trying to do things he can't and just focuses on doing what he can do really well. Mines traditional folklore in much the same way that Troll Hunter does - though with far less slapstick humour and big action scenes, and more quiet drama and a slow, intimate build-up to a finale that's pretty beautiful.
