A fun film! There's plenty of action and an exotic locale, and Mr. Moto is always entertaining.

A more involving narrative for Moto than the first installment with plenty of action and adventure. They do a better job trying to implicate Moto here which doesn't work so well in series but for those new to the series a nice benefit. The treasure hunt aspect really helps speed up the plot but unfortunately they come nowhere near where X marks the spot. There's some nice focus on the orient and its customs with themes carried out through to the end.

Mr. Moto the violent Charlie Chan!!! Pumped with action! Peter Lorre was almost indestructible! Well, that was more to do with incompetent crooks. How many times does Lorre have to get (almost) killed?! Regardless of Mr. Moto's own incompetence this was a lot of fun! Lorre was great and it's filled with almost creepy humor. Better then the first entry in the series!

I found this to be a surprisingly fun and entertaining film. This has the feel of a serial at times and that's not a bad thing. The use of white people in Asian roles was a bit distracting but the characters were handled well so it wasn't too much of a put off.
