That awkward moment when you realize this is a chick flick disguised as a bro movie.

That Awkward Moment is a "dudebro" movie of the worst kind. It's not funny, it has no respect for women, and it thinks that a simple apology -- that comes out of nowhere that it offers only because it thinks that's the right thing to do but doesn't understand why it's sorry -- can make it all better. It can't. This is a shallow, unfunny, and misogynistic sorry excuse of a movie.

There wasn't much awkwardness in the film, except for maybe Zac Efron's costume at the "dress-up" party he went to. This film is a good mix of the raunchiness of Superbad and the cute story of a romantic comedy. I thought the writing was also really quite good. I found myself laughing quite a bit at the lines...

That Awkward Moment when everyone else apparently disliked a film I thought was pretty good. Solid writing and engaging performances carry this otherwise pretty run-of-the-mill flick.

i gave it 2 points for the 2 times i laughed, neither of which had anything to do with the main cast. i like to think that this movie is incredibly stupid and people don't actually act tin the way these unsympathetic characters did, but maybe i'm becoming out of touch. movie does have a good moral in that you never really have to reap consequences for any of your actions ever, which is a comforting thought.

Rom-com plays with all the idealogies and clichees of the genre, but throws in some spunk and charm which raises it above the generic films of it's ilk. The three leads work extremely well together, and the chemistry of the cast shines through on screen. Both Michal B. Jordan and Zach Efron show that they'll be leading men on the big screen for years to come. Imogen Poots is infectious, in a good way.

Nice combo of romance and comedy. Plenty scenes of how you should you treat women or what pick-up line you should use and t's funny to see how they actually pyt these thought to use. The cheesy and mellow parts were there and made the movie a little boring, but ok! Kind of dissapointed to see yet another movie that everybody ends up with the "right" person for him-her and happy...

Cliche and grating and insensitive and just plain dumb, this is a waste of talent at every turn. What's awkward is that anyone in this movie said 'yes.'

Fun romantic comedy. A good choice to kill time.

Half a step above your average rom-com, with some occasionally clever dialogue. I just wish the bedroom scenes weren't to obviously obligatory.

Not a bad movie at all. If you get over the fact that it is a typical Hollywood-romance movie then you are all set. I enjoyed it. 56/100.

I found this to be a very well written and acted relationship/friendship film. This is different from a chick flick or the like because it has just as much to do with the relationship between the group of friends as it does with romantic relationships.

Typiclal romcom with the standard cliche moments. I felt they rushed the story along especially in the early moments when the main plot is being setup. Overall its an easy watch and the cast arent annoying to spend time with which makes a change for this genre!

A romcom with bro's. Bro com? Bromcom? Rombrocom? Who knows. Obviously it isn't a great movie. But it's actually hilarious.

Is it just that I've gotten too old for this shit? Anyway, here's Whiny Guy, Insufferable Guy, and Punchably Self-Involved Guy, and they're all having trouble with women. Either they can't get women, or they don't want to get women, or...I dunno, man. It seems like this kinda stuff was a whole lot sharper when I was in my twenties, but maybe it's always been like this. It's kinda the pits, really.

What the hell even was this? It wasn't a comedy but it wasn't anything else either. Not even my Efron appreciation could save this mess. Miles Teller sucks also.

I always liked Efron. B. Jordan not so much and Teller seriously need to do something about his Vince Vaughn vibe in the future. This is a movie for girls, but making it about guys, tricks you in to watching it, because it might be a guys movie... Nope it ain't. - Bad

That Awkward Moment is a film in which good things happen to idiotic characters merely because the writers say so. The film is poorly written with mediocre performances and an inane plot. Efron and Poots are tolerable but not entirely believable, while Teller is the opposite.

Beautiful successful people have sex with other beautiful people while sprouting profanity and trying to figure out how the hell a relationship works. Any movie that features someone drunkenly yelling at Facebook seems to have at least one foot in reality.

Then again, movies like this one aren't really banking on any reviewers' charity--they're banking on gags and jokes, images and innuendo that stretch the boundaries of good taste to build buzz and garner guilty giggles. So ... maybe star Zac Efron's assessment is all we really need here: "This movie's all about, 'Bring it on. How can it get more awkward?'" (pluggedin.com)

Likeable leads, feels like mainling a few episodes of a sitcom but for some reason it also feels weirdly long. Not even sure why, all the ingredients are there and the execution is good.

A gender confused chick flick with lots of bad humor targeted towards men. The only real laugh is delivered unintentional by Efron's ridiculously over emotional acting towards the end.

I've instantly became a huge fan of Imogen Poots and Mackenzie Davis, they were both entirely awesome in this. Zac Efron was also entertaining as the reprehensible cad. The story is basically about 3 bachelors who promise to stay single and play around a while, but each of them soon find a special girl that unravels their plan. Much of the story is quite juvenile, but there is enough comedy tossed in to make it enjoyable to watch, and there were a few memorable and truly awkward moments.

Even Miles Teller can't save this sexistic piece of irrelevance. It's American Pie with coffee cups. Woman are cool, but only when they play video games, drink Scotch and don't get on your nerves?! Is this movie written by a 13-yearold?! We live in a hetereosexual-monogamic-patriarchy... and this movie, even or maybe because it has one or two laughs, is it's evil disposer! It even has a tokan black guy...

It's like someone took a really terrible script, then paid a decent comedian to rewrite all the jokes - ends up being watchable as a comedy even though the movie itself is trash.

I am starting to become a big fan of MacKenzie Davis, she was cute and charming in this film. The three male leads prove to be decent, Teller being the funniest and Efron being the least believable. Teller and Jordan carry the emotional moments better than Efron and really that is what the heart and soul of this film was designed to be. It kept me entertained and I had a few solid laughs. This film does it's job and I cannot complain about that.

Isolated moments work - there are two or three solid gags, for sure - but overall the film is a let down, never wavering from predictable rom-com beats and utterly wasting the considerable talents of Miles Teller and Michael B Jordan. Their performances here might as well have come out of a Kevin Hart ensemble comedy, but why complain? It's not as if the film deserved better.
