Though released under titles referencing ragtime and jazz, the uniforms and Germanic signage would suggest a band more of the Sousa and oom-pa-pa variety. The main attraction is the second half, featuring a raucously unimpressed crowd and various things and individuals being flung around. With a little imagination, the viewer may enter into the spirit of this audience participation, giving Ford Sterling's constant mugging exactly the reception they've always wanted to.
