Spielberg, freed from Lucas's toxic influence, delivers here a better Indiana Jones movie than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Good whiz-bang fun.

Adapting Tintin to the big screen seemed a mission impossible, but Spielberg and Jackson does a great job combining Herge's penstrokes and fantastic storyline with a 2011 touch of action. The first part is very true to the "Unicorn" cartoon, and once we are introduced to Haddock S&J makes their changes. Some works and some doesn't but if you're not short of breath after watching Haddock explaining about his ancestors or the chase scene down the city, go watch an art-movie and wank off!

May not capture the atmosphere of Hergé's Tintin, but who cares when it's this much fun. And guess what? Tintin is a freaking cartoon album, not a film! This is something even better than Tintin: It's Indiana Jones! Or rather the Young Indiana Jones Spielberg has always wanted to make without the meddling from George "All business no film talent" Lucas. Fast paced with excellent set-pieces, it's as if Hergé's stories has given Spielberg the inspiration he needed to get near his early 80's form.

Really strikes the same atmosphere as the cartoons that I saw as a kid. That, mixed with the very nice Indiana Jones-scenes, lots of great details and the sublime technical features that comes with a Jackson & Spielberg partnership, this is all in all a brilliant film from start to finish.

Hergé distilled through Spielberg is (despite being quite different from the source material) exactly as enjoyable as one could have hoped for. Every action packed scene is a testament to the director's incredible craftsmanship, sadly absent the other resent adventure film he did. This is in every way a worthy heir to the good old Indiana Jones movies.

A moody mystery quickly turns exciting adventure, the likes of which we've only shared with Indy. Craig is a joy and Snowy is adorable. Everything and everyone look spectacular! Taking full advantage of animation's possibilities for choreographic excellence, Spielberg entertains with many ingenious details in his fun set-pieces (brilliant deadlines). The script gets almost everything right, too (it's also for kids, so the humor is excusable). I could watch it over and over - and I'm sure I will.

Tintin according to Spielberg and Jackson is - sadly - more charmless computer game than the real deal. From a distance especially the action sequences are both thrilling and entertaining, but zooming in you'll discover the heart, spark and soul of Hergé's magical creations have been replaced by dead CGI-eyes and hollow shadows. When not even Spielberg can do him justice cinematically, this serves as sufficient proof for letting Tintin rest in his own time and iconographical world.

On the whole, a bit boring really. Lots of pretty and dazzling things whizzing by on screen but I couldn't care less about who was involved and why anything was happening. It's worth a watch though for the final 3rd of the film which showcased some fresh and suspenseful action sequences. I reckon Tintin fans and kids would adore this movie.

Spielberg at full force. Visually outstanding and rich in creative and fun ideas. The writing may be a bit too clunky to line up with his greatest, but the kids won't mind at all. Count me in for the next one.

Definitely well produced and beautiful to look at. However, I felt little to no emotional attachment to the characters. The film just seemed to move through the motions, transitioning from one wonderfully animated place to another, without injecting any humanity into any of the characters. It is unfortunate, because the production quality was so fantastic for this movie; yet, it just ended up being flat, convoluted, and ultimately forgettable.

After Indiana Jones 4, it was feared that the master himself had lost his 'adventure-movie' touch. Well good news, everyone: Spielberg is back with his arguably most entertaining film since 'Jurassic Park'. And no, it may not be exactly the 'Tintin' comics that certain sad white men had their mommies read to them when they were kids. It is, however, fast paced adventure fun, brimming with ingenious gimmicks and jaw dropping visual mastery. A 'Tintin' worth a damn.

Jam packed with great action scenes one more elaborate than the previous and a hint of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUVwR0rw5fk it's entertaining in a way not unlike the old Indiana Jones movies. Didn't care much for the "Alcohol is bad, mmkay"-morale two thirds through, though. But other than that: great entertainment.

We're talking about a movie that takes one of the most meticulous, detail-oriented crafters of action sequences cinema has ever known, and unshackles him from the physical limitations of reality. It is, of course, sublime -- the Bagghar chase in particular a better Indiana Jones action set-piece than anything in Crystal Skull: it's like watching a plate-spinning act that keeps throwing in increasingly complex twists and intricacies, but somehow the plates keep on spinning. Gorgeous transitions.

Man, I had the biggest, goofiest grin on my ugly face during that car/motor/tank/bird chase sequence. This amazing scene caused the rest of the film to feel a bit weaker in comparison and the end felt anticlimactic because of it. Still, the experience as a whole was great fun. It looks good, runs along smoothly and is sure to please fans of the character. Also, the 3D isn't a cheap cash-grab for once.

Animation is superb and surely one of best in the genre. Yet Spielberg disappointed me. A bit. Characters were just too plain and easily forgettable. And if half the effort used for action scenes would be put into puzzles(not like National Treasure-Nicolas Cage style but half way like that:)) behind treasure hunt instead of vendetta between leads, would be much better.

*Curiosity* Tintin didn't meet Haddock in this installment. Ooh, they merged plots from several installments, thus changing the chronology while reimagining characters' dispositions. Wait, what ? *Ambivalence* What's wrong with everyone's face ? Where are the Bird brothers ? *Anxiety* Williams' score is severely lacking in personality. That chase scene is uncomfortably convenient in its arrangement. *Anger* Seriously, where are the Bird brothers ?! (End credits) There goes my childhood.

Is the phrase 'rip-roaring adventure' too much of a cliche these days? Tintin is super fun, with seriously beautiful visuals and some great cinematography, including one shot that, CGI or not, is just stupidly impressive. The script has tons of funny moments, mixed in with some lame ones (ugh, burp power.) and the cast all seem to be having the time of their lives. Wonderfully paced and the action sequences were fantastic. As an adaptation, I have no idea, but as an adventure film, excellent.

An incredibly fun film: the treasure-hunt adventure plot is well-crafted without being too complicated, the action is excellent (see the wild goose-I mean falcon chase through Bagghar), the animation makes full use of its creative power (see the delightful transitions and Haddock's recollection), and there's just the right amount of great comedy (see Thompson and Thomson of course, but Haddock is hilarious too: "I lit a wee fire" "In a boat?!") added to the suspense (see the ship escape).

I went into this with a critic's voice in my head, having said that he wasn't sure whether Spielberg took the characters or his creation seriously. I walked out disagreeing, having interpreted this "fun" as the fast and well-paced feel of both the original comics and the honourable cartoon series. I feel this is Tintin in the modern world, with animating techniques that offer something new and thankfully don't distract. I couldn't have asked for much more from this revisited childhood favourite.

Everything feels very forced and "hey look at me," and the story feels like a series of absurd adventures strung together that conveniently fall in place at the end because they have to. Even so it does provide silly entertainment and the set pieces, contrived though they may be, are well enough executed to at least partially forgive the problems.

I was put off of this movie from the get go by virtue of its being based off of a comic that reminds me of "Archie", I put that aside and took the plunge and I was absolutely impressed. Tintin is action packed, fun, hilarious, wildly entertaining, and just plain good looking. There's a damned fine story here which is hardly surprising with Edgar Wright and Steven Moffat sharing some of the writing credit. Don't, like me, let this movie pass you by, you can thank me later.

The most fun I've had in the theater this year since Super 8. That's what Tin Tin is for everyone: pure fun. Probably the most technically impressive animation I've seen yet. The action parts are absolutely stunning. Unfortunately the characterisation of Tintin doesn't quite live up to the books (although Haddock is very well done), but hopefully this will be improved in the sequels. Also, the awesome Tintin theme song from the cartoon was badly needed here, and it's unclear what possible reason there could have been for leaving it out.

Tintin looks beautiful, sometimes perfectly made -- the Morocco segment is really impressive --, but features the storytelling of an average videogame and an exhausting, automatic flow. I had guessed (and hoped) that Spielberg would succeed in making a "Spielberg movie" out of Tintin. My guess turned out to be correct. Describing Spielberg's Tintin as "Animated Indiana Jones" isn't at all simplistic. It is accurate. Tintin has the same entertaining action, the same quirky sense of humour. And a special style of animation which pleases the eye and showcases gripping facial characterisations. I enjoyed Tintin almost as much as I enjoyed the fourth Indy movie.

Really didn't care all that much for it. Haddock is brilliantly portrayed as both a drunk and a sailor, Tintin is for once shown as not just a kid, but a man who is not afraid to throw a punch or two when the situation calls for it. My problem with the movie is its pace or lack of it, or actually its use of pace in wrong sections of the movie. The parts that should have been savored were rushed and vice versa

First must be said that this looks absolutely incredible. While for the most part this was an enjoyable adventure, it was not without issues. Despite constant action and being around 100 minutes long, I felt like I had been sitting in the theatre for a week. The actual secret of the unicorn and the villian's real motives are quite disapointing also. And my main issue is just how it all seems to wrap up too easily and the action sequences feel all too staged.

I'm sad to report that I was not moved by Tintin. This strikes me as Spielberg's attempt to cash in on the current comic book movie craze. The story's utterly uninvolving, and Spielberg spends a great deal of time banking on our familiarity with and residual affection for Tintin--who happens to be an eighty-year-old star of a Belgian comic strip who's infinitely more popular on European shores than American. A neat-looking flick, but it left me cold.

Bit of a nostalgia hit from when I was a lad and Herge was publishing the series. Tintin only uses his gun for practical effect & looks uncanny to the novels. Haddock's character was amended, to the point where he is chastised for his drinking. His pessimism & outright anger were dulled, probably out of fear that he may steal the main protagonists chair. It's fun for much of it but there's nothing really to it. Action, tiny bit of plot, action, tiny bit of plot. The deducting doesn't quite get to Batman/Riddler levels, but we were well down that road. The 3D mostly works, with some poking out stuff and some depth-o-vision. A lot of little flaws kept this movie from being really great. There are lots of ridiculously over-stretched action scenes, and a lot of humor that is poorly timed or otherwise just falls flat. The animation looked amazing at first, but it quickly became just really unsettling and weird. It's strange how most characters retain a kind of cartoony appearance, but for some reason they gave Tintin himself this really unnerving hyper-realistic baby's face. The movie is kind of all over the place.
