A drama based on an ancient Chinese proverb that breaks life down into four emotional cornerstones: happiness, pleasure, sorrow and love. A businessman (Whitaker) bets his life on a horse race; a gangster (Fraser) sees the future; a pop star (Gellar) falls prey to a crime boss (Garcia); a doctor (Bacon) must save the love of his life. Reasonably sure this is the worst film I've seen, discounting political agenda stuff.

Top badass moment? It features a bad guy’s henchman; and some butterflies. A bit like office cleaners, henchman are the unsung and normally forgotten individuals, without whom the bosses couldn’t function, or at least not without getting in a terrible mess. Last time I saw anyone care about one was in Austin Powers. This film isn’t Greenpeace’s latest report, but a slightly trippy thriller that went really well with three bottles of Wyld Wood cider. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

This is a very nice looking film with a distinctly Korean film aesthetic but it tries too hard to be artsy. The script is just bad and is a rehash of the half a dozen other films that use the same narrative gimmick with separate storylines coming together. The main problem is that it doesn't really go anywhere with it. It just sort of meanders through different (ridiculous) storylines while the characters make wide eyed puppy dog faces pretending they are experiencing something incredible.

If you really wish Hollywood did better movies, than this movie is really it.

The Air I Breathe is an ambitious movie whose point got lost in the shuffle. It's overstuffed and doesn't exactly know what it wants to be about, outside of four morality tales that get told individually and do enough to switch things up and keep the plot interesting. The actors are fun -- if not all necessarily good -- and while a much better film could have been made with this material, the one we got is fun enough in the moment, even if it's not going to make much of a lasting impression.

The Air I Breathe tries to be good movie but it fails. The stories are boring and as it seems "randomly" binded to each other. There's still few fine moments so it wasn't total waste of time.

Nice ensemble piece with good performances all around. From the description on Netflix, I was expecting something really pretentious, so I was glad to find that wasn't the case.

It's weird when you watch a movie and you can tell that all the actors are LA residents and the movie is only going to be in LA theaters. These types of movies are almost masturbatory self-aggrandizement. Or maybe it's more of a circle jerk.

Wannabe Altman trash.

"A breathtakingly bad Altman rip-off that seems like a wholly unintentional parody of multi-narrative films." - Nick Schager

It had a similar feel to "Crash" where everyone is connected, but wasn't nearly as well put together.

One of those movies that squandered it's cast on trying to have a farther reaching story than necessary. All of these sprawling narrative type stories end up leaving more to be desired because they aren't quite attentive to the details that the audience's want to see. This one could have been better but it was solid enough if you enjoy the formula of many characters dealing with different emotions.

You know it's a bad movie if Brendan Fraser is playing the toughest guy in it.
