Lars von Trier said he understood Hitler. Well, I understand Lance. But he's still a giant, manipulative, egocentric douche of ages.

It's funny how such a pathetic sport attracts such pathetic, psychopathic fucking losers. Lance Armstrong should be beaten to death with his cancerous testicle. What a cunt.

This is not a film about cycling, Armstrong, Tour de France, etc. It's a film about deception on so many layers which undermines the whole sports film genre aesthetics that are so dreadful. Very clever.

Lance Armstrong should pursue a posting on BHP's environmental board, as NK's nuclear program spokesperson or as the Japanese emissary to the IWC.

[missed start] Athletes are necessarily selfish and self-obsessed, no need to be such an arsehole though. That they take drugs and the orgs are corrupt isn't news and there wasn't any real explanation of how he became the wild-eyed loon we see, only re-telling. What was shocking -to me at least- is that "Tens of millions of taxpayers Dollars" are spent on sports via sponsorship, those who approved that are far, far worse than any sports cheat.

You can almost forgive him for the cheating but what a complete arrogant f*ck. The way he treated those around him is astounding and the number of people who seem to have looked the other way while they cashed the checks is pretty shocking as well. A most interesting film, worth a look.

Decent if unspectacular Lance Armstrong doc, concentrating on his fall from grace. Gibney has a lot of access to the man himself, both before and after Oprah, but knowing what a compulsive liar the cyclist is means you don't glean much from these interviews. The possible complicity of the UCI in the scandal is touched upon but not delved into; more glaringly, the bigger picture of how widespread doping was in the sport is not addressed, which cannot be ignored in the context of Armstrong.

Fascinating documentary which doesn't paint a pretty portrait of Armstrong but it doesn't demonize him either. It is a bit unfocused and clearly overlong at 2 hrs+ but I still thought that it did sum up the matter quite nicely.

Well made and surprisingly even-handed. Reveals Armstrong for the sociopath he is.

It was a pretty good film. It was actually started before Armstrong was exposed, which gave it an interesting and personal angle, which was cool. It was structured well and delivered the information effectively. I also liked that it didn't make Armstrong out to be evil, but didn't shy away from the truth about what kind of person he is. It was perhaps a little long, but if you're interested in the subject, it's definitely worth a watch.

Good documentary but in a sence it's conclusion really misses the point. People were not only buying this fairy story because they wanted it so bad but because it was more believable. It was easier to believe Armstrong's lies than imagine UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) and WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) beeing as corrupt as they were/are. Hein Verbruggen (UCI President),Johan Bruyneel (Armstrong's team director) etc are way scarier monster characters in this story than Armstrong himself.

Armstrong is surely a rat, but I like how this documentary made me think in broader strokes. For example, if the sport was the most popular when everyone was doping, doesn't it mean that doping makes a sport better, therefore they should just allow to let it roll? Also, I thought it shows how important the game of public opinion is, and how easy it actually is to create this fake reality. How many things that we think are truth, are just blatant lies, that no one cared to see?

Very good inside look and access to a moderately amusing and unpleasant figure.
