The Arsenal Stadium Mystery

A murder mystery about a football player (soccer for you American out there) who drops dead on the field between a friendly match between Arsenal and amateur team The Trojans. It features the real Arsenal team of 1938/39 and it's fun to see some real old football being played. Alas aside this fun gimmick the central murder mystery isn't all that engaging and made watchable mostly by eccentric Leslie Banks as the detective.

I don’t like football (vivir en Messi-Maradona-land no me afectó) I couldn’t care less about the matches, though I must admit it is somewhat interesting to see how it was back in the day. Its attempts at humor mostly failed, except for a bunch of middle age Scotland Yard men dancing in tutus. The acting is a bit stiff at times, the queercoded inspector being the only good one. Overall pretty mediocre movie that causes some boredom

Cool to have a football murder, but it's slightly slow at times. Leslie Banks however was fun to watch heavily in character, and this had Norwegian blond Greta Gynt! Also interesting to see 1939 football footage at Highbury! Will there ever be a sequel called The Emirates Stadium Mystery?
