The snowboarding and photography itself is incredible. But there's not much else to the doc. You could watch it on mute and have the same experience. So it's really only for people who are already excited to watch snowboarding, not for a mainstream documentary audience.

So boring. 70 minutes of slow motion and then the end credits come up. Watch the trailer and you know the whole movie. You learn way to less about the motivation of the athletes and why are they destroying the woods with guns? Every sport has its magic but nice pictures can't get this across on their own.

Nice scenery, but no story. Skippable if you don't love snowboarding.

"An aesthetic showcase whose repetitive nature winds up diminishing the excitement of its breathtaking feats of mountainous flight." - Nick Schager

Instant snowboarding boner, definitely one of the greatest ever made. The one I strive to be, but never will be. Unfortunately new filming crew in the follow-ups aren't that great, but hits one is a must see.

some pretty pictures but way too much slow motion to stomach, as well as the lack of any bit of story telling significantly ruined the experience for me.

An original approach to 'extreme' sports film making. Huge budget, crazy film technology, and a hefty tablespoon of hippy melodrama.
