The Artist and the City

a languid updating of the city symphony, in which a painter's picturesque imaginings come to life through the moving picture. there is probably a line to be drawn from MAN WITH A MOVIE CAMERA to this, in which the artist replaces the cameraman. unfortunately the version i saw was a low quality rip in which the sound recording, in particular, was very poor. it probably deserves a higher rating.
