Possibly one of the more vile, reprehensible, grotesque features I've ever seen - my head was cocked at a slight angle and my eye was twitching, always mildly unsure that what I was watching is actually what they were depicting. In short, I kinda liked it. Or at least the part of me I hate liked it.

Strange enough throughout to keep me glued but fairly amateur. Mentaculus: "In short, I kinda liked it. Or at least the part of me I hate liked it." I wish I would've read that before I went all in on proclaiming my enjoyment of Hardbodies a couple reviews ago.

While the twist ending of "The Baby" aught to be seen coming a mile away, I found myself so caught up in the disgusting plot to pick up on the hints before the end hit me like a loaded diaper. This one is so unlike anything that came before or after it that I'd consider it required viewing for any schlock or exploitation connoisseur.

"[has] a politically incorrect, outlandish storyline that couldn't be filmed today."

Slightly difficult to grade, since the 1st third is engrossingly, jaw-droppingly bizarre in a way that only the freakiest Japanese films achieve these days, while the 2nd third starts 2 get repetitive enough that it becomes hard to ignore the 70's made-for-tv-movie execution. Still, unlike other cult oddities there's a definite story here w/ a conclusion that wraps all the craziness together & a subtext sure to send feminist scholars into a tizzy. HIGHLY recommended for fans of the unusual.

Pretty shocking movie, with a premise that is certainly not wasted. It's not a slasher as the poster would lead you to believe. Instead, it's a psychological thriller with some seriously disturbed characters. The climax is rushed, but the actual ending is so seriously fucked that you NEED to see it to believe it.

David Mooney just torpedoing his career right out of the gate. There isnt an actor alive (maybe Nicolas Cage lolo) who could recover from this role, totally insane. The Baby crawled so Clifford could run.

Truly demented in a garish and offputting way. The kind of movie I imagine John Waters would admire.

Possibly because of the '70's sensibility (the clothes!), this flick has a seriously campy quality, and it several points it's inadvertently hilarious. Yet despite all that, it manages to be quite creepy... rather an amazing feat, I'd say. Definitely worth a look..

Aside for the oddball premise this was really poorly acted and honestly boring. As for the twist, yes I didn't see it coming but the twist I imagined was actually much better.

I put off watching this movie for a while due to dreading it would be some weird and uncomfortable fetish thing, but it is actually not that bad. There are some pretty wicked characters in it though, and the last act really had me by surprise in its escalation and reveals. Silly but twisted.

The craziest thing about The Baby isn't that it's about an adult man who lives as a baby (wearing diapers, crawling around, googoo-gahgah-ing) under the care of the domineering women in his family, it's that everything is played 100% straight. There is no cheese, no wink, no tongue in cheek. The Baby is played as a straight drama with a dash of horror, and that just makes everything feel even weirder.

Box Versátil Obras-primas do Terror Volume 16.

I caught some of this as a kid and am pleased to say it’s still as fascinatingly weird as it was then. Certainly holds your attention, mainly due to the bizarreness of it all and the curious score, which feels like it was lifted straight from a TV detective show of the era. Comer is decent and Roman puts in a good shift, but even at 85 mins Baby drags a little, with many scenes padded out; and as surprising as the final reveal was, I was hoping for something better.
