loy, grant, and temple do some great jobs here, but i was especially impressed by grant's ability to do some great comedy. this is a great script and story that deserves more recognition than it has. i would have never thought that temple would grow up from a cute little girl to a pretty young woman.

Get out of the way Shirley Temple, I've got first dibs on Cary Grant! Surely one of the all-time funniest post-war zingers, "This is a fine way to treat a veteran!"

This was a fun little comedy. Loy, Grant, Temple, and most of the supporting cast were all great. The ending was a bit lackluster and unsatisfying.

Funny comedy. Shirley Temple's last good role. Grant and Loy are good together.

Actually funnier and less gut-wrenching than most comedies of the era with this kind of subject matter. Shirley Temple's character was pretty insufferable, but overall an enjoyable flick.

Pretty funny. Temple is great as the precocious teenager and Grant is as good as ever.

This was absolutely delightful & the comedy holds up very well. I was wary of the premise considering the era of release, but the script actually handles the idea of a teenager crushing on an older man in a very sensible and responsible way. Still, there's just enough absurdism and snappy dialogue to make the plot engrossing. The cast is firing on all cylinders with impeccable comedic timing and all the main players glow with that classic Hollywood glamour. Surprising that it's not better known!

Great story, good acting, many funny scenes, but the ending wraps everything up quickly and uneasily. I enjoyed watching it up till that point, though, and I would recommend seeing it anyway, for the comedy and the actors involved.

Yes, this was the right type of comedy for someone who loves both Cary Grant & Shirley Temple. Grant's reactions to just about every absurdity going on was priceless! And that was all that was needed to make this a timeless comedy.
