Bill Pullman portrays an old cowboy left to find justice for the killing of his lifelong friend. His nature is revealed by his selfless determination to persevere. The story of betrayal hung on flimsy details and there were a few plot holes, especially at the very end. However, overall it was entertaining and engaging. You can't help but root for this unlikely and unusual hero.

Never since single-handedly saving the United States of Will Smith from evil Martians has Bill Pullman shined like he does in this fettucine western about an old horse three shoes short of a proper shodding out to get Metal Gear revengeance for the death of his long-time pardner.

This film has lots of softly spoken dialogue, which may be frustrating for some. There are some plot elements I thought weren't very believable, although there are some gripping moments present at times. This is very much an ok Western. I particularly liked the character of Laura Johnson, played by Kathy Baker. She's a real no nonsense lady. Otherwise this film is ok but nothing especially worth writing home about, so I wouldn't recommend it as such, no.

I love westerns, but this didn't capture the beauty of Montana and the story has been done over and over.

The trusted sidekick gets his story. That alone made this western worth watching.

Bad photography, bad everything except the acting. That the other characters actually believed Lefty killed him was both laughably stupid and unbelievable.

The Ballad of Lefty Brown is a very beautiful western with loads of interesting, strong characters portrayed by an amazing cast. The imagery is beautiful and the music really gives you a whole flood of Red Dead Redemption 2 -moods. The only problem with this movie to me was that it lost steam somewhere towards 3/4th of the movie. The conspiracy is far less interesting than the other parts of the movie are and in the end the way the movie concludes is left kind of lukewarm, as well.
