I really wanted to give this movie higher. It has so many amazing scenes and very solid acting. There were a few things that were completely unbelievable though especially how guns and phones in this movie seem to be the most indestructible objects to ever object.

This is movie is made in a classic over the top De la Iglesia style where the plot can and does go everywhere without contemplation about the usual common places. It is entertaining if you like the eclectic style, but the plot isn't as engaging as other De la Iglesia's films

Typical Mist-like contained survival horror that brings the worst of each layer of society -- a hobo (what a terrific performance), a lady looking for love, an advertiser, an ex-cop etc -- in order to comment our own everyday sense of paranoia living in big cities. First 45min are really strong in its crazy depiction of despair, but the film lazily relies on lackluster tropes (some nicely timed comedy, for example, and soft gore) to deliver a resolution.
