The Beast

This must have been an odd movie to pitch. American actors playing Russian soldiers in the Afghan war... But I have to say, it aged very well. This movie is 25 years old and still quite watchable.

This is a brutal and graphic depiction of a lost tank and a small group of Mujahedeen. The acting isn't great, but none of the performances are distractingly bad. Although the movie has a very realistic feel to it, there are a couple of plot points that kill the realism. All in all this is an enjoyable flick.

One of the best war movies. I watched it many times.

When it was the bad Soviets v's good Afghans now it's the bad Americans v's the good Afghans ......oh wait? Opium it's a hell of a drug.
