The Black Scorpion

Decent stop-motion effects, tolerable everything else. Not the best '50s monster movie, but far from the worst.

Pretty much a remake of _Them!_ (even some of the same sound FX are utilized), this is given grit by its cheap but remarkable animation FX supervised by Willis (_King Kong_) O'Brien, including a scene where the monsters derail a passenger train and then hungrily pluck out all the survivors like someone digging out the raisins from a box of raisin bran.

"Guys don't worry they'll only eventually threaten Mexico City, that is so much better than what is going on there now"

This is almost perfect for the genre, even though corny dialogue and so-so acting. The scorpion creatures looked great. Fun 1950s sci-fi/monster movie.

Not fun. Too much exposition that just isn't needed. The fight stuff is kinda cool

Mystery Science Theater. So scorpions roar now?

Notable mainly for its top-of-the-line stop motion animated scorpions, and its far from top of the line story and acting. Also, there's far too much over-use and abuse of close-ups of the monster's face, achieved with a less-than top of the line large-scale animatronic prop, that gnashes its teeth and slavers and drools incessantly. Eh, it's better than some of its cousins, but not even close to being the best.

O escorpião negro estreava há 65 anos nos EUA. Tremenda cenas com os escorpiões, mas tudo mais bem genérico, fico pensando se não teria sido mais divertido assistir a versão do mst3k. Box OP Invasão Sci-fi Ataques.

I'm sure they will remake this some day, with better effects but just as crappy.
