Although certain things are implied, I'm not sure the film does a good enough job of explaining how or why the brothers' relationship ultimately turned so sour.

What a sad story of these amazingly talented men. I think it could've gone deeper into the problem but considering the makers of the film are not experienced documentarians, it should be expected.

A labour of love documentary about the two most successful movie songwriters ever. Made by family members, its style never moves beyond talking heads and recollections, but it's still a great insight into the men behind songs that defined a the childhoods of generations and have become staples of our culture. It skips a little on why they stopped collaborating, but considering the family nature this is understandable. Best viewed as a celebration of their work rather than a warts'n'all insight

A must-see for fellow Disnerds, 'The Boys: The Sherman Brothers' Story' is obviously a love letter to the legendary fathers of directors Greg and Jeff Sherman. While some skeletons are left hidden in the closet, the movie is nonetheless an appropriate combination of artistic celebration and somber regret.
