Woah, quite sleazy! Wrestling half naked women, porn music as background, swimwear competition? Watch out feminists, cause you will love this. There's nothing more degrading than seeing a woman's head in a baking pan. Awesome MST3K

For an MST3K black-and-white b-movie, this one was actually not bad, and really had genuinely creepy moments hidden in the cheese. Also, I just really like the name.

The alcoholic has his bottle. The drug addict has his needle. I have my research.

Underrated. Several creepy and wierd scenes throughout. Bunches of things to keep you involved into the movie (WHAT THE FUCK IS BEHIND THE DOOR), yet its pretty damn cheesy, like all sci-fi/horror movies from this era.

Decently entertaining in all of its low-budget, poor-acted, B-movie cheese.

Charmingly awful little flick, rife with technophobic anxiety and questionable acting. The lengthy and hamhandedly poetic dialogue scenes between the severed head and the lab assistent are worth the price of admission alone. Despite the titular brains request to let it die, the material was brought back in Henenlotters quasi-remake "Frankenhooker".

I thought it was pretty good for it's time, and even though production costs can't compare to those today, I think they did a decent job with what they had. Other than that beast, which was, well, beastly!

Silly and schlocky horror film is passable enough if you understand what you’re getting – a full on “horror” camp-fest studded with a smutty, leery sex subplot (with only tenuous links to the main plot). Pulled together quite well for the bargain basement cheapie that it is, and (for 1962) brutally direct in presenting its perverse characters and gory violence. Sluggish pacing (even at 82 minutes) is a major detriment, but film is still interesting as a hokey but still lively relic of its era.

What if Re-Animator was an episode of the Twilight Zone? By any reasonable standards this is a terrible movie, but it's also eminently watchable, and exactly the right kind of organic, unforced campy. https://letterboxd.com/pickle_man2135/film/the-brain-that-wouldnt-die/

Could be historically interesting. Probably one of the earliest instances of the head in a pan seeking its body. The film seems to be low-budget and doesn't really work very well. As I say, may be of historical interest only.

It's another bizarre and terrible sci-fi movie from the 60's with a handful of good ideas and no talent to make these ideas watchable.

The actors are bad to iffy & even the iffy ones aren't helped by the student-film style direction & budget. Sets are sparse & the filmmakers clearly want as much non-acting cheesecake on parade to hide these flaws. Despite all this, the central idea - & image - of being trapped as a bodyless head IS creepy. But it's the pacing that's hardest to tolerate. It unnecessarily draws out the running time. With more cash & lots of cuts, this could've been a great 68 minutes or so in 1962

Campy and with obvious effects, but it's enjoyable for most of it's runtime. A minor classic.

Fills too much time with endless TV soap opera drama (1958 style), along with a moral saying that organ transplants are the devil's work and just let people die. Some of the sleaze is laid on pretty thick though and it's unfortunate that the nudie footage is reportedly lost.

One of the more memorable 60s campy sci-fi movies. A great mix of ludicrous melodrama and campy gore. Fuck MSTK3000 forever.

LOL, "Our Bodies, Ourselves" NOT! If nothing else, this is a hilarious assault on the "male gaze", and it should be embraced and cited by feminists everywhere as early evidence of what we boys are really thinking.

Seems like two movies in one. There is some complexity to the relationships between assistant, head and caged horror that works really well in the lab scenes. Outdoor locations feel like a much seedier movie. Watched the Elvira hosted version on Tubi. Bless.

El Cheapo production. One of the first really gory films of this kind, yet awfully silly (definitely better on MST3K)

Generally bad, but also wonderfully perverse. The doctor is a real sicko, and it's sometimes genuinely horrifying. If Cronenberg hadn't remade The Fly, this would've been a good candidate.

I watched this without the MSTK commentary. It sucks and is inept in every way. The ending is the only good part.
