The Brotherhood

At times meandering gangster saga is still well-shot and staged by director Ritt, and benefits from a commanding and charismatic performance by Douglas as a Don Corleone forerunner - it is interesting to note the similarities to Coppola's later classic, especially the study of the family dynamic within organised crime (and how weddings can be a great way to set the wheels of family problems in motion!)

The film is dark and brooding with a couple of different plotlines dealing with honor and love among the family. It was interesting, but it just didn't pull me in because they told me the end of the story at the beginning.
