I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched an elephant cum inside another elephant's vagina getting all over Mark Strong's face. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.

The Brothers Grimsby is the worst Sacha Baron Cohen movie so far, and that's pretty impressive considering he starred in The Dictator. It has a handful of laughs - five or fewer - scattered throughout its mercifully brief running time, but they're nowhere good enough to make the film worth seeing. Most of it is cringeworthy, there's no bite behind the offensive comedy, and some of it feels like it has been rehashed from Baron Cohen's previous work. There's nothing here to like.

This film had "Farrelly Brothers" written all over it, I was shocked that they didn't direct it. This is basically the gross out version of "Spy" If you didn't get your "fill" of semen humour from "Ted 2", this will definitely top you off!

This was tough to bare. Maybe the gross out teabag and elephant scenes just didn't resonate with me but the humor as a whole was a big miss.

I'm in the minority on this but I thought it was a lot of fun even though half the jokes were predictable and fell flat. The other half made up for it.

Sacha Baron Cohen: for those who prefer their Will Ferrell a little more European. The saving grace here is that you aren't SUPPOSED to care, but where other, better people can make self-aware, silly movies and still have them be enjoyable (partly due to taking the ten minutes required to craft likable, investment-worthy characters), "cinema Cohen" is such a spastic hack that he would rather just keep tossing jizz and butt jokes at you until you crack a smile out of sheer exhaustion and/or pity.

I laughed really loudly at a ton of jokes. Way better than I expected to be quite honest. Yes it's vile, yes it's vulgar, but it's also highly entertaining and pushes the boundaries of comedy quite a bit. Especially the elephant scene. Worth checking out if you're into over the top comedy.

An unfunny pile of shit (and I live for moronic, low brow comedy). Almost all the jokes fell flat, and Mark Strong couldn't come close to salvaging it. I'm probably a few years late on this (because I haven't seen the Dictator), but this film cements Baron Cohen's hack status for me.

It has a pretty thin premise, but could've worked fine if it was just funnier. The parody of a certain UK subculture was fun. The shock humour worked at first, but soon became tiresome. Some of it was pretty gross, sure, but that doesn't always translate to funny. There was some attempt at an emotional core to the story, and it could've worked, but again, the immature humour kind of ruins it. The supporting cast are fine, but don't get to do much. Cohen needs to try harder next time.

SBC does what he does, no surprises there and Mark Strong does what he does. It's nothing special but not entirely bad either.

Viewed April 10, 2016. Not as much of an outright disaster as I was expecting. Instead, in what's kind of a rarity for Sacha Baron Cohen, it just isn't very interesting. There are a few truly great jokes (The [infamous?] elephant gag starts out being so dumb, but escalates beautifully), but a lot of it feels very tired. I can only watch this man stick so many things up his ass, I mean.

Sacha ain't Tom Green. He still keeps his edgy comedy inside the already set out confines. He is on a downward spiral ever since Da Ali G Show.

Gave it a higher rating than I expected due to some decently-shot action and a handful of actual laughs, but ohhhhh my god is this a travesty, albeit one that thankfully worked on a Room-esque level. The elephant scene is perhaps the single worst comedic set piece ever committed to celluloid.

Lowbrow, silly, and exactly what you'd expect from Cohen. Far from his finest, but still moderately funny. For its 80 minute runtime, you can switch of your brain, have a few laughs and then subsequently forget about it.

It's not the best SBC film but I enjoyed it a lot and had a number of laugh out loud moments. It's possible a lot of the humour is too 'northern England' for international audiences to appreciate though, and it's fair to say some of the jokes are weaker than they should be. That said, I had a lot of fun with it overall and look forward to rewatching in the future.

Shock-schlock provocateur Sacha Baron Cohen seems incapable of creating anything less than incomprehensible foulness. Borat. Brüno. The Dictator. This time it's James Bond meets Dumb & Dumber meets Jacka-- in a sendup that will leave moviegoers gagging. Or worse. (pluggedin.com)

Gross out comedy is alive and it had to be about England being champion of the world in Chile with Sterling scoring with a ball shot by Sacha -- also, Donald Trump has AIDS, a bukkake with elephants, Sacha sucking his brother's balls, hooligans invading a World Cup final to save the world from a deadly virus and all sorts of stupid comedy you can think of.

This has a few some funny moments, it is also extremely crude & vulgar. The premise is entirely ridiculous, stupid & unbelievable, but of course that's the point. They were intentionally trying to be totally outrageous. I was quite surprised to see Penelope Cruz play the bad guy. It is absurd & stupid, but also so outrageous that it became memorable. Extra points for making me laugh out loud at least three times. Definitely not for children or anyone with delicate sensibilities.

This is just dreck. Yes, there are 5 funny gags and it's thankfully a quite short movie compared to other comedies (looking at you, Judd Apatow) but this is a career low for Strong and McShane. SBC should really rethink if his comedy style works anymore.

It's like watching a stand-up comic who's horribly bad at telling jokes, but has a couple of really good ones...and some that are so outrageous it comes out the other end and starts being funny again. Unlike his other movies, this one's humor doesn't rest as much on whatever Cohen's character is that time, but more on....you know....other stuff that can be funny, too...like ideas...and is therefore his best so far. Merely by having the least cringeworthingly embarassingly unfunny moments.

I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting, but this was bad. Minor giggles aside, majority of the film is cringe-worthy and way over-the-top. The action sequences and the how seriously the big names (particularly Mark Strong) seemed to take the film, were the most impressive parts of this.

To a point, an indefensibly silly and vulgar comedy -- which is often undeniably funny thanks to a very 'good-sport' cast (especially hilarious Strong and Sidibe). Difficult to assess a movie whose stock in trade is to be as over-the-top and ridiculously offensive as possible, but occasionally you need some rolling on the floor laughing that only the sight of a line of elephants can provide!

Cohen is as raunchy as ever in The Brothers Grimsby. It's the strafing satire that's MIA. You get that sinking feeling when you realize that gross is all there is to Grimsby. The comic sting that set Cohen apart got lost somewhere. Maybe in that elephant's vagina.

Very lightweight, but thankfully brief enough not to test your patience too much. I can't see it having any significant amount of international appeal outside of the British Isles. SBC's accent is slightly irritatingly all over the place and there's little to recommend here other than a few gross out laughs.

The trailers really undersold this. It's far from SBC's best but it still manages to deliver a bunch of belly laughs as it pushes at the limits of bad taste. A lot of the Northern jokes probably didn't fare well outside of the UK and there's a number that fall flat, but when it works it works wonderfully. It's a weird mix of gross-out humour, the strength of family, and some surprisingly intense and well-shot action sequences. And one of the best elephant bukkake scenes in cinema history.

The ending elicited some genuine laughs, but boy is it a long road to get there. And it shouldn't feel that way; this thing is barely feature length. The satire is so unfocused and flavorless that I wondered if something was lost on me as an American viewer - but I think it's just an uncharacteristically bland effort from SBC. We don't deserve Mark Strong.
