The Cardboard Village

Olmi's drama is a courageous, although not always successful, experimental take on immigration, putting the actors as if they were at the theater, performing a play: the camera stands still, and they barely move; the lights are too bright and there is not one single shot outside the church where the story is based. Nicely done.
